Years in company: I have been with Oxygène Immobilier for 2 years now.
Industry experience: 2020/21 was my first season in La Plagne, and my first time working in real estate. I work for Oxygène Immobilier during the summer too and I am now entering my 3rd winter season.
How long have you been in La Plagne? I moved to La Plagne with my family 3 years ago. I originally came from the north of France, a place called Picardie. My husband is a fireman and in France at specific times in your career you can choose where you want to work. We chose La Plagne and the mountains. I must say I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I absolutely love it. I have a little girl who is 5 and she’s growing up in one of the best places ever.
Where is your favourite place to eat in resort (and why)? There are so many great restaurants and I can’t just give 1 so here are a few options:
- Plagne Centre - Mamas Kitchen is great! It opened last winter and they serve amazing kababs that you can either eat in or take out. The Croq Neige is also great for quick and easy food, they have a big sun terrace and the staff are really nice too.
- Belle Plagne - The Matafan. The food is AMAZING! High-quality and beautifully presented. A must do for an evening out.
- Aime 2000 - La Marmotte Qui Fume. I love traditional mountain food like tartiflettes, fondues and raclettes, and here I have tasted some of the best.
Which is your favourite piste to ski/snowboard down (and why)? I don’t have one piste, I have an area… it’s the Champany side. I like to call it the sunny side as wherever you ski the sun shines on you. Oh and I love the fun slope, I am a big kid at heart!
What’s the best thing about working at Oxygène Immobilier (and why)? The working environment is warm, friendly and family orientated. I also really like the adrenaline of the winter and Saturdays are my favourite as we get to meet all of our guests and put faces to names.
How do you like to start your day? With a coffee and a chat.
What was your first job? I was a barmaid during my studies.
What lead you to this career? My brother works in this industry, and for sometime it had interested me. So when I arrived in La Plagne and found this job, it was all perfect timing.
Fun fact about yourself? I was once an ‘Opellette’ car girl at the Paris Motor Festival. I presented the new Opel (Vauxhall) cars.
Have you got a favorite expression or joke? It’s a French saying ‘le pessimisme est d'humeur; l'optimisme est de volonté’, which basically means being pessimistic is a feeling, however being optimistic is a choice. My glass is always half full…
