4 Of The Best Restaurants In La Plagne

If you're anything like us, then a trip to the mountains is just not complete without some delicious food. Whether it's a long leisurely ski lunch to fuel you up for more powder hunting, a traditional french feast by a wood-burning fire, or a unique fine dining experience, we think great food is at the heart of any ski holiday.
Luckily, when you're in La Plagne you're never far away from an excellent restaurant! So to help you narrow down the choices, we've put together a list of our 5 favourite restaurants throughout the resort.

Expédition - Aime 2000

A relative newcomer to the La Plagne dining scene, the Expédition restaurant wasted no time making a name for itself as one of the best restaurants in town. Owned and run by a passionate young couple, this is the place to head if you want excellent food and exemplary service.

Visit for lunch to feast on a mouthwatering burger or crêpe on a south-facing terrace. Or relax in a deckchair with a signature cocktail for apres ski. Then, in the evening, enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and the constantly changing menu that celebrates traditional Savoyard food and locally sourced, seasonal produce. All accompanied by carefully selected wines that complement the food to perfection.

Cocoon Grill - La Plagne 1800

For an unusual and exclusive dining experience, try the Cocoon Grill. Your party of 6 - 21 people will take over a private chalet-restaurant where you will gather around a Scandinavian Kota grill. Watch as your personal chef expertly grills côte de boeuf and duck fillets over the open flames. Perfect for meat lovers!
This unique dining space is available for lunch or dinner but must be booked ahead of time to avoid disappointment. If you're unable to grab a spot, don't despair, try the attached restaurant La Table du Cocoon. In this baroque setting, you'll sit beneath grand chandeliers and dine on dishes crafted with care and artistic flourish.

Le Petit Comptoir - Plagne Centre

This tiny place gives a whole new meaning to the term takeaway. Don't expect any reheated or soulless food here. With a constantly changing menu of innovative French cuisine, this place is all about fresh ingredients and meals designed to delight and surprise your tastebuds.
The menu is posted daily and consists of a starter, choice of mains (usually one meat, one vegetarian) and a dessert. Diners call to place their order for two or three courses, then collect and take home to enjoy. Limited seating is available, and you can dine in if there is space. But the unique appeal of this restaurant is that its exquisite food can be enjoyed in the comfort and convenience of your own chalet or apartment.

Carlina - Belle Plagne

The restaurant at the 4-star Hotel Carlina offers a wonderful place to stop for a long and leisurely lunch on the mountain. With ski in/ski out access, a huge south-facing terrace, stunning views over the slopes and a varied menu packed with specials, it is easy to see why we love this place.
In the evening, diners move inside to the wood fire warmed restaurant. Here they are presented with an excellent 4-course meal of traditional french cooking fused with a little modern flare. Visit on a Sunday evening for a traditional Savoyard fondue, but be sure to leave enough room for the desserts expertly crafted by the dedicated pastry chef.

We hope this steers you towards some excellent dining during your stay in La Plagne. Why not share your favourite meal with us by tagging us in your photos or using the hashtag #oxyimmo...
