Summer in La Plagne

We all know La Plagne is famous for being an international ski resort, but did you know we have a fantastic summer season too? From the beginning of July to the end of August you can make the most of our wonderful resort in all its summer glory. Enjoy beautiful scenery, fresh mountain air, lots of fun activities, all set in a family-friendly and relaxed environment.

There’s plenty of summer fun in La Plagne

So many people ask, ‘what can you do in the summer in La Plagne?’. Well, here’s a little sneak preview…

You’ll find mini-golf, trampolines and bouncy castles dotted around our La Plagne villages. They are perfect for the little ones! You can go swimming in an outdoor pool or even in lakes. Horse riding is also possible, choose a lesson or go out for a hack. There’s mountain-carting too (the mountain equivalent of go-carting), and your mini-me can even ‘go-ape’ on several child-friendly treetop adventure activities

Are you looking for some action? No problem! For the fast and furious of you, why not test out your downhill MTB skills. There are many great bike schools in La Plagne. Are you an advanced rider? You’ll find a large selection of pisted bike runs for all levels. The chairlifts are now accessible for mountain bikers - simply hook your bike onto the lift for a quick ride to the top! You’ll find the summer pass info and rates here.

Water sports more your thing? Enjoy the white water rapids of the Isère river passing through our valley. Try white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking, canyoning or even hydro-speeding. Drive that little bit further, and you’ll find wakeboarding too!

Fancy flying high like a bird or climbing walls like a spider? There are a number of Paragliding companies that can take you on an experience like no other. We also have our own Via Ferrata, which incorporates plenty of climbing, hiking and zip wires.

Ok, now for something a little less adrenaline pumping, yet 100% rewarding. There are so many beautiful walking paths to explore. Why not go searching for our mountain lakes, or you can even rent an electric mountain bike to explore all the hidden corners of La Plagne.

La Plagne also hosts annual summer events such as the Super 8, FestiPlagne and the epic 6000D - a massive mountain super marathon of over 67 kilometres to the top of our glacier. You’ll find several running events over 3 days at the end of July for all the family.

There you have it! As you can see, a mountain holiday in La Plagne is not always about skiing or snowboarding. There are so many fun activities you can do during a summer stay with us, and there really is something for everyone. So, this summer why not come visit us in La Plagne.
